Impedance of space-charge-limited currents in organic light-emitting diodes with double injection and strong recombination

چکیده
The impedance model for a one-carrier space-charge-limited SCL current has been applied to explain some experimental features of double carrier organic light-emitting diodes. We report the analytical model of impedance of bipolar drift transport in SCL regime in the limit of infinite recombination. In this limit the ac impedance function is identical to that of a single carrier device, with a transit time modified by the sum of mobilities for electrons and holes, n+ p. The static capacitance C →0 is a factor of 3 4 lower than the geometric capacitance, as observed for single carrier devices, but it is shifted to higher frequencies. It follows that impedance measurements in the dual-carrier organic diodes with strong recombination provide the combination of n+ p. For the mobilities of the different carriers to be determined separately, additional information is required. © 2006 American Institute of Physics. DOI: 10.1063/1.2358302

متن کاملInvestigation of radiative tunneling in GaN/InGaN single quantum well light-emitting diodes
The mechanisms of carrier injection and recombination in a GaN/InGaN single quantum well light-emitting diodes have been studied. Strong defect-assisted tunneling behavior has been observed in both forward and reverse current– voltage characteristics. In addition to band-edge emission at 400 nm, the electroluminescence has also been attributed to radiative tunneling from band-to-deep level stat...

In this research, the lifetime of green organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) is studied using four passivation layers. To encapsulate the OLEDs, MgF2, YF3, composed of alternating MgF2/ZnS and YF3/ZnS layers were grown by thermal vacuum deposition. Measurements show that the device lifetime is significantly improved by using YF3 and ZnS as passivation layers. However, diodes encapsulated by Mg...
متن کاملCharge Carrier Mobility and Electroluminescence in a Green-Emitting Alternating Block Copolymer with a Methoxy Bi-Substituted Chromophore
We determine the mobility of positive and negative charge carriers in a soluble green-emitting alternating block copolymer with a methoxy bi-substituted conjugated segment. The negative charge carrier mobility of 6 10 11 cm/V.s is directly determined using space-charge-limited current analytical expressions. Positive charge carrier transport is also space-charge-limited, with a mobility of 1 10...
متن کاملContact Injection into Polymer Light-Emitting Diodes
The variation of current I with voltage V for poly(phenylene vinylene) and other polymer light-emitting diodes has been attributed to carriers tunneling into broad conduction and valence bands. In actuality the electrons and holes tunnel into polaron levels and transport is by hopping among these levels. We show that for small injection the I-V characteristic is determined mainly by the image f...
